My mower--Murry Select Widebody Lt Model 42591x8b-- died quickly while pulling a cart-load of wood. It was like a power outage in the house. It died fast and I knew it was electrical. I started pulling covers off and saw the magneto. It was the only thing hooked to the spark plug wires.
I ordered it on-line-- Genuine Briggs & Stratton Armature Magneto Ignition Coil Part 394891--. Amazon.com was the cheapest overall. I put it in with no luck. My mechanic friend looked at it.I found out I had it upside-down. Flipped it over and it worked like a champ. A business card was all you need to gap it.
I'm happy with the whole situation. I almost did it "All by myself."
